🕌 Islamic Reflection on Shadow Work

While Jung called it “shadow,” Islam recognizes the nafs (ego/desires) as an inner struggle:

• Nafs al-Ammarah (commanding self: greed, envy, fear).

• Nafs al-Lawwamah (self-reproaching, struggling self).

• Nafs al-Mutmainnah (peaceful, purified self).

Shadow work = mujahadah an-nafs (struggle against the ego).
